PTSD

Poor Winnie. Yesterday I didn't have her lunch with me. We were at Shura's so she had some of Monkey's kibble and 2 duck jerky strips. During the night she threw up the kibble. This morning she had minimal appetite. She ate a little and threw that up also. I was/am trying not to freak out.

Since yesterday (post grooming) she had been lethargic and not interested in much. I had planned to work her at Sunday class but she was too tired. She didn't have much appetite. She also might be sore...perhaps from struggling so hard. I am fight off feelings that I had allowed some real damage to be done to my dog.

We had a vet appointment this morning to check for a possible UTI. Luckily I was able to catch a sample this morning so they didn't need to draw one out with a needle. I love my vet BTW. He played with Winnie and loved her up .... so cute. She didn't need to endure any "procedures" beyond a temp today which is excellent. Her temp was 100.8 and last month it was 100.2 so nothing alarming there. She weighs 8.4lbs which the Dr said was good. He will run the urinalysis and call me tomorrow with the results. I am wondering if I should have had him run a parvo test.

Winnie has been put on low-residue eukanuba puppy kibble. She likes it which is good. I hate to feed her that kind of stuff but the Dr said for puppies he prefers not to restrict them to chicken or cottage cheese and rice b/c they need a lot more than that. I am going to trust him on this one and try it for a few days. We shall see.
