I mentioned a few posts ago that a woman had offered to mentor me on conformation. I knew that it was going to be a difficult situation but I decided to try anyway.
She was nicer to Winnie than I had anticipated. Winnie had a hard time with the grooming and restraint and fought a lot. She had many, many tantrums. The worst part for me was when Winnie got really (honestly) scared by the force dryer. She looked at me and asked me to save her. I wish that I could had but I didn't (the lady wouldn't have allowed me to even if I could have summoned the guts). My homework is to help Winnie become comfortable with and accept the restrain necessary to do show grooming. The good news if I now have a much better idea of what that all looks like. I did learn a lot. Sigh. Winnie was exhausted for the rest for the day really.
Winnie is drop-dead-gorgeous
Today she goes in to see the Dr. again in case she might have a UTI or bladder infection.
